Missouri Court of Appeals upholds Board of Education’s Decision to Terminate Three Tenured Teachers

Natalie Hoernschemeyer and Betsey Helfrich of the firm’s education department successfully represented a Missouri school district before the Missouri Court of Appeals. After a hearing before the district’s Board of Education, the Board terminated three tenured teachers for immoral conduct. The teachers appealed to circuit court and then eventually brought their cases before the Missouri Court of Appeals. Following briefing and oral argument in each of the teacher’s cases, the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, upheld the termination decision of the Board of Education.
