Hoernschemeyer Wins Appeal for Missouri School District

Natalie Hoernschemeyer of the firm’s education department successfully represented Poplar Bluff R-I School District before the Missouri Court of Appeals. After a hearing before the District’s Board of Education, the Board terminated a tenured teacher for incompetency under the Teacher Tenure Act. The teacher appealed to circuit court and then eventually brought his case before the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern Division. Following briefing and oral argument, the Court upheld the decision of the Board of Education.  The Court’s opinion is styled Madden v. Poplar Bluff R-I School District, –S.W.3d – (Mo. App. S.D. 2013).
